A leader is like a ladder, she is in constant contact with both the top and the bottom. You know why? If it cuts off its stand at the bottom, it will surely fall and if it cut off its projection at the top, it will be considered useless - too short.
As a leader you have managed effectively those below you and above you. Irrespective of what your followers did to go wrong, you stood up to bear its consequences. You needed to take up the blame for them no matter what - protected them from the venom of people above you. This is how you became influential to me.
