So we are both making history together 💃 💃 💃 💃 💃 💃
First thing I will love to tell the house is that
"Impossibility is Nothing"
If you can think it, you can imagine it.
If you can imagine it, you can see.
If you can see it, you can achieve it.
#Period
Don't let your background put your back on the ground.
I was born in the village
Ovia south west, Benin, Edo State
I spent three years here before I was brought to Ibadan and since then I have been in Ibadan.
Spent over 25years in Ibadan now, still counting. 😎😎😎
I was brought up my aunty, then my uncle later adopted My younger sister and I in the year 1996.
Since then, they have been the best parents to me.
I was born with a limitation called "Dyslexia"
Who knows the meaning of "Dy slexia" in the house
A learning disability in which a person finds it difficult to read and write.
Because of the limitation
I attended five different primary schools
But eventually finished and went to Government College Ibadan, Apata.
For my secondary school
I started living above my limitations when I gave my life to Christ on the 31st December 1996
In my JSS2,
Peak Milk came to my secondary school and gave award to the best students in each Junior Class. They came when we were in the third term.
And announced my name as the best student in JSS2 both in first term and second term.
The whole school couldn't believe it. I went home with lots of prizes and gifts that day.
A student who couldn't read, write and speak as a child became the best student.
In my JSS 3, God called me and spoke with me one faithful day at Midnight while I was sleeping. Just like He did with Samuel in the Old Testament
That was how I started my close relationship with God
After that award by Peak Milk
The school started their prize giving day
[m So for JSS2
I was the overall best student
In JSS 3
I was Second Overall best student
Then from SS One to SS Three, I was the overall best student 🙈🙈🙈
In my SS 3
I was the Deputy Head of School, JETS Club President, L & D Society Club Coordinator and the fellowship leader
The fellowship is called Youth Foundation Secondary School Fellowship, where we had over 200members from different secondary schools in Ibadan
Then became the best graduating student in my set.
2005 Set
Something amazing happened that year too in school
Before we wrote our WAEC that year, the last time someone had A1 in Chemistry was about four years ago before year 2005
So when we wrote ours, I had A1 in Chemistry along with my best friend
To cut my long story short, after secondary school, my best friend and I
Did something
I told him I want to become an Engineer
And he said he wants to become a Medical Doctor
Today my best friend is a Medical Doctor
I am an Industrial Engineer by profession
It took me four years after secondary school for gain admission into University of Ibadan to study Engineering.
Even though I had admission from other institutions like UNAAB and Covenant University, but didn't go because I wasnt given what I wanted
Determination and focus
In my University days in UI, I wasn't satisfied with the educational system.
So I spent most of my time learning from books, online, seminars, workshops, conferences and trainings
Then helped other students to develop
Because I am naturally passionate about Human and community development, change and impact
In my 300Level
I founded the E-NNOVATORS
it started as a group
We came together to solve the challenge of high rate of academic failure in faculty of technology 200Level courses
Because we were victims of the failure and we didn't want the students coming behind us to experience such, so we started a tutorial class for 200level students while we were in 300level
It was a huge success
The failure rate dropped and most students passed
Before then
I was the class governor for my class from 100level to 400level
I lead my class to become the best class in my set in our faculty. We won the award twice, 100level and 300level
To cut my long story short
I personally decided to drop my academic zeal for what I was passionate about
So I spent more time with my passion rather than academics...🙈🙈🙈🙈
Don't be like me in that area i
In my final year
I applied to make the ENNOVATORS a student organization in UI and they approved our application
That was how the group became a student organization in UI
In ENNOVATORS
We educate, equip, and empower students with skills of employability, entrepreneurship and leadership
By the time I was graduating from UI, I had over 10 awards for my personality and leadership achievements
Went for NYSC in 2015
And by the time I finished my service last year, I was given an award by NYSC Oyo State for my leadership and impacts made in the state as a corps member
After my NYSC
I took a decision not to depend on my parents.
I come from a home where my father can afford to give me #200k for my monthly allowance from home
I never lacked anything since I was adopted by my new parents
My father works in an oil and gas company called "Chevron"
After my NYSC
Last year April
I came across this quote
A man that rides his father's car should not sit in the council of men that own their bicycles
Hustle for your money
Don't depend on your parent wealth
I had a car I was driving since my first year in school. It was given to me by my parents but I noticed something.
Most of our parents control our lives because we depend on them for everything
Immediately I came across that quote, I decided to take responsibility for my life and be independent
I stopped collecting allowance from home
I stopped driving the car, I said I want to ride a car I bought for myself with my money
I turned my passion into a business enterprise
Today I'm into fish business
I co-founded a start up called Homespike.com
I'm a social entrepreneur ,
Photojournalist and so on
All I shared today is just 45% of my story
But another time we will hear more
I hope I have been a blessing to someone here today
This is my first time sharing my Story on whatsapp...
