The "Man Of My Dreams"

He was everything I ever wanted in a man. He was tall, good looking and very spiritual. He was a medicine student too. Anytime he came to our class to make announcement of the programmes in his fellowship, I felt the chemistry of love inside me. This is not about the swarming flies that roam the stomach of those other girls o. I felt it was sincere and divine love.

I got to find out his sister was in my department and level so somehow somehow I met her sha and we became close friends. Lines fell in place for me when she told me to follow her to her brother's hostel. When we got there, she introduced Mr to him- I just watched as he smiled and said "God bless you". "Oh Lord, I've found God's will" I thought inside of me.

We sha left there and the thought of him and the imagery of his 'handsomeness' couldn't leave my memory. "I think I've found him at last". I was just in my year one when all these happened.

I changed my fellowship to Derrick's (yeah, that's his name). I just wanted to see him everyday. Derrick was in the choir. His voice sounded like an angel came visiting on easter Sunday when he took the solo.

Before anyone could say 'Jack' , I had joined the choir too, even though I knew how bad my voice was. All I wanted was Derrick noticing me.

All the while I prayed, I fely spirit told me it was Derrick. But the question was 'Why wasn't Derrick noticing me?'.

It was another bible study when Derrick wanted to pass the offering bag and he hit my head in the process. " Oh sorry", he said. Immediately, I just smiled; It seemed like I felt the hand of God on me and not his hand hitting my head.
After the service , we shook hands, talked and exchanged numbers.

On Thursday that week, 'God remembered me!'. Derrick called me to come over to his hostel that he has some christian literatures to borrow me. I was shocked! What! Derrick called me! Christian literature! Maybe he has seen the vision! Maybe he knows already! I was excited. I didn't know what to think.

I put on the gown mummy bought for me on my valedictory service in secondary school. I wanted  to look good! Of course I did and straight up, I took a bike off campus to his hostel!

'Knock knock!' 'Hello. Come in'. The first thing I saw on the chair when I entered was "Preparing for marriage" by Oyebode Wellington and believe me, my heart's position changed! I was excited. He welcomed me in and offered me a drink. I felt on top of the world!

Beloveth, I woke up completely naked under the blanket the next morning. What happened? Where am I? What do I do? Where's 'Brother Derrick'? Where's my virginity?
