When you get into a difficult situation in life, what’s the thing you see? Do you see an attack from the enemy or a life lesson from God.
In life, depending on our eye sight, we would start to see things differently when we can look at how God can be involved in this.
No doubts that the enemy tries to do is harm sometimes and bad things never come from God but when you sulk in that hurt, being broke or overwhelmed, what do you see?
Let me use this sweet illustration. The 12 spies.
When the 12 spies were sent out to check out the land they were supposed to take over, all of them saw different things entirely.
While 2 of them saw a land they could easily take over, 10 of them saw a land filled with giants that were insurmountable.
And to be fair, both of them were right in themselves.
You cannot see clearer than your understanding. When we encounter difficult situations, our response should be in respect to what God wants to teach us or show us from that situation.
The devil thought harm but God thought it good that what has happened would shift you to a point where you start to see God in that situation rather than yourself in that situation, and it’s amazing because we see it happen when we go through things.
We’re quick to say God has forgotten us so much that we focus on how hard the situation is and forget that we have to pick a lesson there to move.
We see this how God could have shown Moses a different route to the promised land but He instead had to take them through that process for years.
By the way, their going through that process was not an attack. It was clearly orchestrated by God and it was so.
They suffered, starved, learnt, disobeyed, learnt, encountered and then understood the person of God.
Whatever they went through in that period should have strengthened their faith but rather, it nullified it.
Sometimes, we’re like the 10 spies who forgot the faithfulness of God and interpreted their findings by what it would have taken in themselves rather than in God.
We let our obstacles nullify our faith.
Meanwhile, we’re supposed to look at that situation in the light of God in it and how God reads or interprets it.
Ask God “What are you trying to say here?”, “What are the lessons here for me?”, “How do I prevent this from happening again?”
And this relates to every single thing we go through that looks like a desert space.
Now, check that situation again.
